Terms of the Transaction

 

The purchase price represents a premium of 28% based on HARMAN’s closing stock price on November 11, 2016 and a 37% premium to HARMAN’s 30-calendar day volume weighted average price ending November 11, 2016. Samsung expects to use cash on hand to fund the transaction. The agreement has been unanimously approved by the boards of directors of both companies.

 

The transaction, which is subject to approval by HARMAN shareholders, regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions, is expected to close in mid-2017.

HARMAN International Industries Inc., a designer and engineer of connected vehicle systems, on Monday unveiled its new $30 million, 200,000-square-foot North American headquarters in Novi at a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

 

“The opening of our new North American Automotive Headquarters signifies HARMAN’s drive to accelerate innovation in the Automotive (industry), and also the exciting future that metro Detroit is forging as an epicenter of the connected car and autonomous driving,” said Dinesh Paliwal, Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Connecticut-based HARMAN.

 

Paliwal says the facility, located on 400 acres at the Haggerty Corridor Corporate Park on Haggerty Road and the M-5 freeway, is home to 1,000 employees, consolidating employees from eight different locations.

 

The building features several vehicle labs, a pilot factory, and audio testing chambers ranging from listening rooms to a cinema-quality surround sound theater. Employee amenities include a fitness center, cafeteria, and an outdoor deck and patio.

 

Paliwal says HARMAN hopes to play a role in the future of the automotive industry as it relates to the collaboration needed to develop autonomous and connected vehicles.

 

“No one company can deliver the connected car experience,” he says. Already, HARMAN has partnered with Google, Microsoft, Adobe, and Dell on a variety of connected-car projects.

 

Phil Eyler, executive vice president of HARMAN, says the company chose Novi for its North American headquarters to “tap into decades of deep automotive experience” that the metro Detroit workforce has to offer. About 90 percent of the employees at the headquarters are engineers.

 

The ribbon-cutting ceremony, which included speeches from Ford President and CEO Mark Fields; Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson; U.S. Rep. Dave Trott, R-Birmingham; and Novi Mayor Bob Gatt, also offered demonstrations of Harman’s technologies.

 

Harman’s connected-car technologies include a system called the Life-enhancing Vehicular Solution that incorporates a variety of autonomous driving and smartphone integration technologies, transforming vehicles into a combination chauffeur and personal assistant.

 

Tom Rivers, vice president of marketing for HARMAN, said consumers can expect to see some of the business integration aspects of the Life-enhancing Vehicular Solution suite in vehicles within 18 months.

 

HARMAN executives also demonstrated a virtual test drive in which 360 degree cameras detected oncoming traffic in a blind spot, scheduled a meeting from a supervisor’s text message, and dialed into a Skype call, all without the driver’s help.

 

Furthering its commitment to the city of Novi, HARMAN today announced a $10,000.00 grant to the Novi Educational Foundation to support educational opportunities and program enhancements for the Novi Community School District and greater community. Joined by customers, elected officials and community leaders, HARMAN executives commemorated the official opening with tours and presentations of its innovation showcase of connected car, automotive audio and connected services solutions.

Piotr dobrze radzi. Ale uwaga on podchodzi do sprawy jak profesjonalista -inżynier ze studia nagraniowego. rozkładając rzecz na czyniki pierwsze. i wyciska z nich ostatnie poty. Zacne sprzęty ma - tylko szkoda, że ''Home Audio Sound'' nie jest w Polsce :-)

Np. do Everestów DD55000, lub mniejszych JBL-i S3900. ML-e to pewniaki do takich kolumn, jak: Revel, JBL, Avalon Acoustics, Isophon / Gauder Akustik.

Czy ktoś w PL ma 4348 Studio Monitor ? ... do posłuchania. Jak najbardziej, mogą być i z Luxman'ami - one także lubią się z JBL-ami. Najlepsze modele Lux'a mają rozdzielczość, kontrolę, przejrzystość, dynamikę i bardziej neutralny rześki ton, np. od Accuphase i nie podbarwiają jak Accu. Accuphase to nie moje granie z tą ich własną farbą - nie naturalne tonalnie, a sztuczne farbowanie / podbarwianie dźwięku, do tego braki w dynamice, rytmice itd. Accu nie są najgorsze, ale dużo dodają od siebie, mocno ingerując w dźwięk.

Accu mogą sprawdzić się nawet dobrze, o ile dobierze się odpowiedni model wzmacniacza mocy do odpowiednich kolumn, bo Accu nie są jakieś super uniwersalne ze swoim nalotem w dźwięku.

Na skompresowany YT, ktoś wrzucił grający zestaw: Luxman L-509fSE Integrated Amplifier + JBL 4348 Studio Monitor.

 

Angstromy nie kolorowały (jak np. Accu), grały Live'owym, dynamicznym, żywym otwartym dźwiękiem. Był tam niższy model ich monobloków, model Stella z kolumnami Diesis Audio Caput Mundi https://www.stereolife.pl/archiwum/artykuly-lista/reportaze-lista/2342-audio-video-show-2015-hi-end Pamiętam nieopodal był polski system z kolumnami hORNS Universum 3 - to tam tak się słuchało jakby w uszatce - ledwo co pyrkało.

 

Bym posłuchał np. Angstrom Research Quantuum monoblock Power Amp z jakimiś wyższym modelem kolumn JBL.

Pisałem z kimś, kto za granicą ma JBL-e z wysokimi modelami amerykańskich monobloków Tube Research Labs http://tuberesearchlabs.com/products.htm - i z lampowych jedne z najlepszych (jak nie najlepsze) co może być do JBL.

Tych też bym posłuchał z JBL-ami, ale w PL nikt nie ma :(
